Decarbonization and Ecological Transition. What Governance for the Italian National Resilience and Recovery Plan?

Italy's National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) was approved by the European Commission on June 22, 2021. European funds, equal to €191.5 billion, are a great opportunity to orient the country's path towards sustainable development, as 37% of resources are associated with spending to reach climate targets. The first €25 billion will be available this month. All the money will have to be spent by the end of 2026. This requires strong innovation in public administration and structural reforms to kickstart the Italian economy. The panel intends to look at challenges and opportunities of this process for effective decarbonization and environmental transition.
